"BEST" CHIMNEY CAPS AND TOPS

The "Best" Chimney Caps and Tops are eastings designed to he placed on top of chim-
neys to protect them at the line of greatest deterioration and to improve the draft. These
chimney fittings have been constructed on principals that have proven to he thoroughly
scientific and of materials that most successfully withstand the ravages of the weather
and fuel gases. It is very easy to install these caps and tops — either in wilder or sum-
mer, as mortar is not required. They are held in place by four cast iron legs which project
downward to the second course of bricks on the inside of chimney. The legs have slotted
holes and radial adjustments, so that each size cap will lit any size chimney up to the

largest for which it is designed. Simply adjust the
legs to lit the flue, tighten the bolts, and set the
cap in place.

CHIMNEY CAPS

The "Best*' Chimney Cap is designed hi replace
the old style galvanized iron hood that rusts out
at the chimney line in one or two seasons. The
Cap protects the masonry and forms a solid base
for pipe extension, if additional draft is desired.
It may be placed on the top of a new chimney to
advantage as a protection to the masonry. Fin-
ished with black Japan. Packed six in a bundle
(knocked down).

REVOLVING CHIMNEY TOPS

There are some locations where there is no regular draft at all, and
sometimes the wind actually blows the smoke down the chimney. No
matter how well the chimney is constructed there must be a device on
top to create a continuous suction or it will draw irregularly. This is
where the Revolving Top can be used to advantage.

The wind blowing against the Vane causes the "Best" to turn the
hack of the Hood to the wind. Adjusted on ball bearings, it re-
sponds instantly to the slightest breeze or strongest gale, and the shape
of the hood is such that the force of the wind creates suction at the
Iri ait or mouth of the Top, drawing a continuous current of air up the
chimney. With the exception of the weather vane and ball bearings on
the tops, all parts are made of good machine gray iron. These tops ^j|§
fire practically indestructable. Finished in Black Japan. Packed one "l

in a carton (knocked down).
